As a mature mama, and one who started this journey later than most, I know I look tired. Because y’all I am tired. Being my joy drop’s mama is such a gift. And y’all I nurse on demand - I am grateful for this - and it is an investment in my child. To be clear, formula is also an investment in one’s child. So, while I lean into this time with my bebe will pass by quickly, I am also committed to looking after myself in large and small ways.

The other day, I told my husband that I was going to take a shower (i.e., I’m tapping out!) so I could try my Sugarbuff Body Polish in Lemongrass and I loved it. I felt like I was at the spa and that my child and husband were fine on their own. I could truly enjoy taking care of myself for a few short moments without thinking about whether or not I need to pump, have I set my husband up for success when I’m with a private practice therapy client or a consulting client, or that I hope my child doesn’t turn into her alter ego the nap resister!

I (re)joined Beautycounter after the pre-order period for Reflect Effect AHA Smoothing Facial Mask, so I grabbed samples of this amazing powerhouse product to share - let me know if you want to try it!

It has a unique blend of chemical and physical exfoliants, like glycolic acid and bamboo particles, which will help to resurface my dull, tired skin in just 10 minutes. Yes, please! I live in the cold Midwest and let me tell you, winter is not kind even if “Black don’t crack!” My skin needs this and I’m so excited to try it. I’ll be in the VIP spa if you’re looking for me! So edited to add that I tried it and I LOVE IT! Yes, I am shouting. It has rejuvenated my skin in one use. Coupled with the Counter+ All Bright C Serum (a powerful anti-aging serum with two types of vitamin C and tumeric - more on that later!) my skin feels softer, is clearer, and more vibrant.
